Peru Mission Team Men and Dr. Knox Chamblin

After leading the Peru Mission Spiritual Life Conference, Dr. and Mrs. Knox Chamblin continued a very full ministry in Trujillo during the following week.

In keeping with his reputation as a masterful teacher and outstanding example of Christian living, Dr. Knox Chamblin delivered an outstanding SBR Seminary module on the Parables of Matthew for our churches, seminarians, and other believers in the area. Each night, we had more than 50 people in attendance. We studied fifteen parables. Eleven appeared in major discourses of Jesus - seven in Mt 13 (the sower; the wheat and the weeds; the mustard seed; the leaven; the hidden treasure; the pearl; and the net), one in Mt 18 (the unforgiving servant), and three in Mt 25 (the ten virgins; the talents; and the final judgment). The remaining four appeared in chapters 20 (the laborers in the vineyard), 21 (the two sons; and the wicked tenants) and 22 (the wedding feast). It was a fruitful time of delving into the Scriptures and applying the truths contained in these parables to our lives and the lives of our parishioners.

Besides keeping this intense seminary schedule, Knox also spoke to a fraternity of evangelical ministers and seminary students here in Trujillo, and preached various times in Larco Presbyterian Church here in Trujillo.

Mrs. Ginger Chamblin led several women's meetings, for both missionary wives and Peruvian pastors' wives, including our first ever Women's Conference for our Trujillo Presbyterian Churches. She drew from her deep experience in the Christian faith, and delivered a message full of hope for women who are struggling with hard times and depression.

We are very thankful to the Chamblins for pouring out themselves for Peru Mission and the brothers and sisters here in Peru. And we are especially thankful to our Lord for blessing all of us during this past week of ministry.
