We want to ask for your prayers for the Spears family, dear friends of Peru Mission. Robert Spears, assistant pastor at 2nd Pres in Greenville, SC, studied at RTS with Bill and Wes Baker. He has ministered alongside us in Peru, preaching, teaching seminary, and doing construction work, on several annual visits.
Robert and Jenny’s son, David, was involved in a car accident right before his high school graduation in 2003 that caused severe damage to the right side of his head and his brain stem. After many months of therapy, he slowly recovered some of his abilities and could talk. However, he was still subject to seizures, which intensified a couple of weeks ago, leaving him in a coma last week. On Sunday morning, September 17, 2006, David went to be with His Lord.
Please pray for his parents and family who have been his care-givers 24 hours a day for the past 3 ½ years. Pray for the comfort and peace which passes all human understanding, which comes only from the hand of our sovereign Lord.
