Surprise Night

Friday Night was "Surprise Night" in the Peru Mission community - an eclectic evening full of varied entertainment and celebrations. It was planned as a farewell party (the Bakers are returning to the USA for a year-long furlough, Clara Lee and Grace Bateman are finishing up their work with us), but became a birthday party as well (Allen celebrated a significant birthday that day - note all the black in the photo). Several people presented talents and tributes to the honored guests in poetry, song and works of art, while a couple of the honored guests treated everyone to a "going out with a bang baton twirling extravaganza"! And the rest of the evening was laughed away singing karaoke - in Spanish and English!
