The kids played their violins in a recital last night in the theater of the Instituto Nacional de Cultura in downtown Trujillo - their performances were marvelous - with Gillian Baikie accompanying. Several of the other performers are students who live in impoverished neighborhoods, and are taught by our violin teacher for free, as a Christian service to give them richer opportunities in life. The surprise entertainment was the many bats flying, diving and dancing all around the theater during the recital - apparently they liked the music as well!

Ok, I must say that I miss the bats and to enjoy them to Mollie and William's accompaniment would have been a real treat. Now were they snakes....let's just say I would have heard the accompaniment from afar...way afar.
