Wichanzao 19th Anniversary

Wichanzao Presbyterian Church celebrated its 19th Anniversary last week. The anniversary was celebrated over several days, with worship services, lots of food, and concerts.
They also inaugurated their new library - the "Alonzo Ramirez Library". They named it for Alonzo because they wanted to honor a Peruvian who is a missionary to Peru. The books were donated by the government to those who sponsored the Rolling Book Fair in January. The library will be great for all the kids in the neighborhood, who normally don't have access to good reading material.
Wichanzao Presbyterian Church also got new benches for their 19th Anniversary! You can see the benches being made above. This has been a need for a long time for several reasons. One reason is because more people are attending - the congregation is already splitting up to worship during two different hours on Sunday morning in order to accomodate folks. Also, the old benches were worn out. The funding just wasn't available before - but they were able to raise the money in the congregation. The new benches will include a kneeling bench (like the ones already in use in Larco Presbyterian Church) - to allow for a more worshipful posture during prayer times. They plan to refurbish some of their old seating and donate it to the church plant in Clementina.

It is such a blessing to see the church thriving again!
