Arevalo Manse a Reality

At long last, the Lord has blessed us with a pastoral house in our Arevalo parish! The house is located 2 blocks from the church, in an area where we have been doing a lot of pastoral work. It is a well-built 2 story house - a lovely home where the Quiroz family can carry out ministry and show Christian hospitality to their neighbors.

On Monday of this week, January 5th, we paid the first installment, with plans to pay the second installment next week. After payment of the second installment, the previous owner, Lupe, will turn the keys over to Arevalo Presbyterian Church. It just so happens that Lupe was actually a member of the Arevalo Board of Directors that was responsible for approving our work in the neighborhood, so we are glad to be helping a friend in the sale of her house as well.

Eduardo Quiroz and his family are excited to be moving into the neighborhood, to be a permanent presence with the people. It has been frustrating for Eduardo to minister "long distance" in the community, as he has to travel from the other side of town to get to the church from his house. So, he is starting this year with increased zeal for the minstry in Arevalo since he knows he will be living with the people he has been developing relationships during the past 2 years.

Praise the Lord with us for His provision and His continued faithfulness to His children. Thanks to Lawndale Presbyterian Church for their contribution towards this important acquisition, as well as all of Peru Mission's regular supporters, whose faithful contributions also helped make the pastoral house a reality. Please continue to pray for the ministry in the Arevalo parish.
