History in Full Color

Many of the Peru Mission team and some friends took an educational trip to Chiclayo, a city north of Trujillo, to visit the "Lord of Sipan." In 1987, archaeologists made a discovery in Peru that is likened to the discovery of King Tut in Egypt. The tombs of ancient Mochica royalty were found intact - with all the gold and adornments originally placed with them when they were buried around 250 AD. The main ruler was named the Lord of Sipan. We first visited the Huaca Rajada, where the discoveries were actually made, and then toured the Museum, where the discoveries are brilliantly displayed. It was a fun, informative trip for us all.
