Urgent Prayer Request for Medical Equipment

Quick prayer request:

When the Ellison family moved down last November, they included some important, valuable medical equipment in their shipment (including a sonogram machine) that had been donated to Peru Mission’s Medical Ministry. This equipment would be a huge blessing to the people in our poor communities, expanding the services available at the Wichanzao Church medical clinic tremendously.

When the container arrived, the Ellisons’ personal items were released from customs, but the medical equipment was not. The Peruvian government has given us the run-around, throwing different loopholes and laws at us every time we meet to try to get the equipment released. The last word was that we could not have our equipment, but we could donate it to a government clinic of our choosing. This is extremely unjust and disheartening, to say the least.

So, Friday morning, Bill, Dale Ellison (administrator of the Wichanzao Medical Clinic) and one of the Peruvian doctors who staffs the clinic have a final-effort meeting with the Minister of Health who oversees all medical goings-on in this district. Several times in the past he has ruled favorably for us, but this time he seems to have a different mindset. The meeting tomorrow morning is the presumably last chance we have at getting the equipment released into our hands.

Please pray that the medical equipment be released to the Wichanzao Church Medical Clinic tomorrow - to bless the neighborhood of Wichanzao under the care of loving Christian doctors and nurses, as it was intended to do!!!
