Belhaven & Bodas

Sunday was an eventful day in the life of Larco Presbytrerian Church. The church was blessed to hear several performances by a musically talented team visiting from Belhaven College in Jackson, MS. The church also joined in the celebration of the marriage of Gabriel and Maribel, two talented, gifted young members of the congregation.

Belhaven Connections is keeping an incredibly tight schedule during their 10 days with us. They taught a Music Appreciation Class in several elementary schools in the mornings, taught a Masters Class at the Conservatory and gave scholarship student classes in the afternoons, and led a Theology of Music Conference in the evenings. They also played for Gabriel and Maribel's wedding! And, Dr. Randy Russ, Associate Professor of Business Administration at Belhaven, lectured for 8 hours in the local university. Whew! They continue their busy schedule in Trujillo until Wednesday of this week, when they will head up into the mountains to Cajamarca to bless the brethren there. Thank y'all for your invaluable contribution to our music development and ministry here!


The wedding was a wonderful occasion. The church was packed with smiling faces (thank goodness we opened up the new addition even though it is far from completed - we wouldn't have fit everyone!). William carried the Bible down the aisle right before the flower girl and ring bearer. Bill performed the ceremony, preaching from Genesis 2:18-25, the key text that he and the couple discussed during their pre-marital counseling sessions. Afterwards, the guests were treated to a lovely sit-down dinner reception downtown - complete with Mariachi Band and great singing not only by the father of the bride, but also by the bride herself. We pray that the Lord will bless them many years together as they walk together with Him.
