Fridays at Arevalo Presbyterian Church are always a highlight in our ministry week. This week, however, was particularly exciting, with lots of activity going on. The Anderson, SC, group busily worked and visited with neighbors, the architects worked on revising building plans, the construction crew poured concrete and the women held a very special meeting.
The Women's Meeting was special for two reasons: 1) the initiator (I suppose you could say "Founder") of the group, Corinne Bradford, is back to visit after a year away. The ladies announced on Friday that the group will henceforth be called "Liga Feminina Corinna" ("The Corinne Bradford Women's Group") after the encouraging, inspirational Founder. 2) Mother's Day was this weekend, a HUGE event in this country, akin to Thanksgiving in the USA. The women prepared songs, poetry readings and delicious tamales for the special occasion - it was really a special time together.
