The wonderful women of Arevalo pulled off two surprises at once yesterday - a surprise baby shower for Sandi Smith and a surprise birthday party for Allen. Corinne Bradford shared a meditation on invitations in the Bible - pointing out that the ladies all received an invitation to this party, but the most important invitations of our lives are found all through the Bible. We also sang, played games (Fruit Basket Turn-over with 40 women in a small house is an interesting endeavor!),
ate spicy tamales and cake with raisins (a cake is not a cake without raisins in Peru) and drank chicha morada (a drink made by boiling purple corn with pineapple and cinnamon). We had a delightful time! ¡Gracias, hermanas! ¡Que Dios les bendiga abundantemente!
